PR Start by Nick Lucido
About This Blog
My name is Nick Lucido and I am a public relations student at Michigan State University. PR Start is a blog about college life, public relations, ethics and careers from a student’s perspective. I hope you enjoy my posts. Here’s a little bit about me:
I recently completed my fourth year at Michigan State University studying advertising, public relations and public administration; one day I hope to incorporate all of my studies in my career. At MSU, I wear many hats and lead students in different disciplines.
Being involved in PRSSA since I started college, I have served in several leadership positions within the Chapter at MSU. I also helped to found and secure grant funding for Hubbell Connections, a full-service, student-run firm. After serving on the PRSSA National Committee last year, I’m now serving as National President, guiding the strategic direction of the 10,000-member organization. I have learned and strengthened my skills as a passionate, ethical and strategic pre-professional.
My internship experience at the agency setting has given me a strong background in media relations, strategic planning, fundraising and research. Additionally, I have worked with clients in the health care, nonprofit, automotive, government and professional service industries. Right now, I work at Edelman Digital specializing in research and insights, as well as online campaign execution. In between internships, I work at The State News in both sales and management positions.
Upon graduation, I hope to find a career where I can grow and develop while leaving my mark on my company and the industry. I am active in PRSSA and hope to obtain leadership positions within PRSA in the future.
